Design and Technology helps to prepare our pupils for living and working in a technological world. This is achieved by teaching technical understanding, designing and making skills all of which are needed to produce practical solutions to problems. It stimulates both intellectual and creative abilities and develops the personal qualities needed to complete a design project from initial ideas to a finished product.
Children experience cooking and preparing food and drink as part of Food Technology. The topic has an element of Craft, Design and Technology built into it to encourage children to plan, design and make artefacts as well as analyse existing systems and environments.
