Headteacher Welcome

Welcome to Uplands Primary School

It is a pleasure to welcome you to our school community. As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud of Uplands and the children, families, staff and governors who make it such a special place to learn and grow.

At Uplands, our vision is simple: every child deserves to learn in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where they feel valued, develop a strong sense of belonging, and are inspired to achieve their very best. Positive relationships and genuine care are at the heart of everything we do, creating a culture where children feel happy, confident and ready to succeed. This commitment was recognised by Ofsted, who described Uplands as "a kind school where everyone is cared for." 

Our values of Ready, Respectful and Safe are embedded throughout school life. They shape how we learn, how we treat one another and how we work together as a community. We believe that children flourish when expectations are clear, relationships are strong and every individual feels respected and supported. 

We are ambitious for every child. Through high-quality teaching and an engaging, broad and knowledge-rich curriculum, we aim to develop curious learners who are eager to explore, question and discover. Our curriculum is designed to be relevant, inspiring and memorable, providing children with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive both now and in the future. We want every child to leave Uplands not only with strong academic foundations, but also with the character, resilience and self-belief to make a positive contribution to the world around them. 

Alongside academic success, we place great importance on children's wellbeing, personal development and understanding of the diverse world in which they live. We work closely with families and the wider community to ensure that children develop into respectful, responsible and compassionate young people who are well prepared for the next stage of their education and for life beyond school.
